Monroeville council approves bids, property dispositions and grant application; advertises ordinances

The Monroeville Council voted on a set of routine administrative and development items at its regular meeting on April 8, 2025, approving commodity bids and vehicle-auction outcomes, multiple property dispositions, several ordinance advertisements and a $500,000 grant application for stormwater rehabilitation.

Council members said the measures clear routine municipal business and set up projects that will return for later approval, while staff noted specific funding and procedural requirements. The approvals include awards to low bidders across a range of road- and public-works materials, formal dispositions of two properties to the Tricog Land Bank, authorization to pursue a Commonwealth grant with a 15% local match, and the advertisement of ordinances on roadway length and zoning-text changes.

Most votes were unanimous. The council approved the 2025 commodity-bid awards as presented by the public-works memorandum, and accepted the surplus vehicle auction results, which staff said totaled $33,339.69. Council also approved standard monthly items including minutes, tax collections, the payroll report, and lists of bills and budget transfers.
