Officer Mitchell, presenting the report, said February showed an increase in intimidation (12 incidents, up by 7) and larceny-theft (17 incidents, up by 7). Weapons violations rose to six incidents (an increase of five). The department reported 95 auto accidents in the month, 13 of which involved injuries, 15 hit-and-run incidents (none with injuries), and one person struck by a vehicle with injuries.
Other monthly activity totals included 690 calls for service, 1,208 self-initiated officer activities, 601 traffic citations, 656 traffic warnings, and 85 arrests during February. Mitchell said the presentation focused on significant increases or decreases during the month.
Council Member Farris moved to accept the report; the motion was seconded and carried by unanimous voice vote.
The acceptance was procedural—the report was received and filed; no further council action or policy changes were taken at this meeting based on the statistics presented.
