Park board approves $74,122.64 for Goldman Park building repairs

The Middletown Park Board voted to approve $74,122.64 in building repair work at Goldman Park, authorizing previously quoted contractor work and related expenditures.

Board discussion prior to the motion reviewed the line-item repairs included in the general-contractor bid and recently completed top-priority work. Members said the HVAC installation and furnace were finished, electric work was due to begin within one to two weeks, and the overhead door contractor was scheduled to start around the 13th–15th of the month.

The broader Goldman Park project list includes painting, plumbing (replacement of a water heater and sinks, a new shutoff valve), termite repairs, window replacement with glass block for security, dumpster/cleaning and other items. Board members said the top four items (roofing, HVAC, electric, overhead door) were already approved and processed; the $74,122.64 vote covered building repairs identified as ready to proceed.

Board members also discussed next priorities for the park, including field leveling and a larger multi-field renovation that would require additional quotes and prevailing-wage compliance. Several board members emphasized the need for at least three vendor bids for larger field projects and noted procurement rules must be followed.
