The committee requested city support. During public comment Bea Diaz spoke in support of the committee and urged the council to consider a donation. Councilmembers discussed available budget and the city’s fiscal position; one councilmember said $5,000 was in the current outreach budget and recommended that amount, while another councilmember proposed $7,000 but noted budget constraints.
