Committee members approved change orders 69, 70 and 701 together; Facilities staff described 69 as an older item for additional slab pours, 70 as curb modification and epoxy resurfacing to address a slip hazard in the booking/shower area, and 701 as a foundation/precast repair tied to prior structural findings.
The motion to approve the three change orders was seconded by Wilson and approved with no recorded opposition.
Committee members also received updates on other projects: a Pope Veil roof-replacement and bracket-repair design submission is progressing in design (staff characterized it as a placeholder for future bidding). On the County Plaza elevator renovation, staff reported that one elevator (Elevator 3) had been turned over to facilities as of 11:30 that day, with two more potentially turned over within a month pending inspections. Staff explained an issue raised by the state fire marshal requiring removal of some sprinkler and smoke detectors from traction elevator shafts and said heat detectors were left in place for coverage.
The committee heard that County Plaza renovation punch-list items and furniture deliveries are progressing and that departments will move in as permits and inspections allow.
