The Shorewood village board on April 7 approved a new job description for a utility superintendent and corresponding updates to the public works superintendent and public works director positions to reflect an organizational change separating utility supervision.
Trustees said the new position will be a vertically aligned position reporting within the public works/utility structure; the job was budgeted within the water utility budget and the approved salary range was described as being north of $100,000 in the packet discussion. The board discussed organizational reporting (the utility division foreman would report to the new utility superintendent) and confirmed the position will be added within the previously approved pay ranges.
A motion to recommend the new job description and the associated updates to the related job descriptions passed by voice vote; staff will proceed with the administrative steps to implement the new classification as budgeted by the utility.
