McLean County raises select animal-control fees; Animal Control reports adoption, transfer and rabies activity

The Finance Committee on April 9 approved an ordinance amending McLean County Code chapter 205, article 11, section 205-32 to increase specified animal-control fees, a measure presented by McLean County Animal Control Director Marchelle Thompson.
Thompson said the fee adjustments were developed to align county charges with comparable jurisdictions, to offset rising costs for supplies and medications, and to encourage owner accountability while attempting to remain affordable for residents. The committee approved the ordinance by voice vote.
