The Beyond the Bridge documentary screening and related events were postponed after storms, Homelessness Planning Council members said on April 9. Organizers and council members described the postponement as the right call and said they plan to reschedule the screening for the fall.
Council member David and other steering-committee participants said the film and its associated impact campaign have opened new conversations with philanthropy, business leaders and government about measurable outcomes and accountability. The filmmakers run an impact campaign in multiple cities; Nashville organizers said they plan to leverage the film to educate the public and to engage the business community on investment and outcome reporting.
Members suggested holding multiple screenings, including public showings and private briefings for policymakers and funders, so the film can both influence budget-cycle discussions and broaden community understanding. The steering committee signaled it will continue outreach and use the postponement period to sustain momentum and pursue concrete next steps.
Council members thanked the planned host site and council members who had volunteered to sponsor the event; no new screening dates were set at the April 9 meeting.
