Student representatives Isabella Carroza and Emily Bullard announced that Isabel (Isabella) Carroza, Cali Pixon and Lola Wojcickowski were named to the Citizens' Voice Scholastic Superstars class of 2025. The meeting noted the students will be featured in the Citizen's Voice and that a medal ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at the Burke Auditorium, McGowan Building, King's College Public Square in Wilkes-Barre.
Other student announcements included a postponed Unified Track Meet that had been scheduled for April 10; a sophomore party on Friday, April 11 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at Amber Palace; ASVAB testing on Wednesday, April 16; PBIS token awards and a VIP pizza party for token recipients on April 16; prom tickets on sale through April 11 at $75 per person for the May 9 prom at Mohegan Sun; National Honor Society induction on April 23 at 6 p.m.; and the French and Spanish National Honor Society induction on April 29 at 6 p.m. The WVW FBLA club traveled to Hershey for the state conference; a parliamentary procedure team placed sixth in the state.
Board member Mr. Hardwick also noted a local library exhibit at the Hoyt Library titled "Path to Presidential History," curated by Larry Cook and his wife; Hardwick encouraged the public to visit while the exhibit remains available. Separately, a board member announced a community recycling event run by Host Company No. 1 in Plymouth on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon (monetary donations optional; flat-panel TVs accepted for a $20 fee).
