Commission recommends renaming Community Development department references to Planning and Zoning in county code

The Glynn County Mainland Planning Commission on April 8 held a public hearing and recommended approval of a county-initiated text amendment (TA-24-1) to change references in the zoning ordinance and subdivision regulations from the "Community Development" director and department to the "Planning and Zoning" director and department.
Planning Director Stephanie Leaf introduced the amendment and asked that the county attorney address any questions because the reorganization affected staff titles. County attorney staff (Mr. Munford) confirmed the item was the same amendment the Commission had considered previously and that the Board of Commissioners had discussed the reorganization at a recent work session.
No members of the public spoke for or against the amendment during the hearing. A commissioner moved to recommend approval of TA-24-1 as presented; another commissioner seconded. The Commission voted 7-0 to recommend the text amendment for subsequent hearings and adoption steps.
