The Business, Housing and Zoning Committee on April 8 approved a permanent expansion of premises for Dexter’s, owned by DLI Group LLC, to add 50 seats at 3717 Fiftieth Street West in Ward 13.
City licensing staff told the committee Dexter’s is taking over the adjacent soda-roll space to expand its kitchen and outdoor patio and will add planter boxes for noise mitigation. Craig Eliason, district supervisor with Licenses and Consumer Services, said public notices were sent within 300 feet and to the Fulton Neighborhood Association; he reported, “We have not received any responses from the community. There are no issues concerning the business or issuance of this license. The licenses and consumer services division recommends approval of the permanent expansion of premises.”
Owner representative Joe Ross told the committee the expansion would add the 50-seat patio in addition to the existing patio and described minor site work: “They're going to add planter boxes for some noise mitigation. But everything else is under the regular operations that we're running right now.” The committee opened and closed the public hearing with no other speakers and voted to approve the item.
The committee recorded the motion and approved the item by voice vote; no roll-call vote or mover/second was named in the committee record. The chair announced, “The ayes have it, and the motion carries.”
This action clears the committee step; the licensing division will complete the administrative processing required to issue the permanent expansion of premises and associated license updates.
