The Department of Early Education and Care Board approved the minutes of its Feb. 12, 2025 meeting by voice vote and later voted to adjourn the April meeting.
At the start of the meeting the chair sought additions or corrections to the minutes. With no corrections offered the chair said, "Hearing none I make a motion to approve the minutes." A voice vote followed: "All those in favor say aye. Aye." The minutes were recorded as approved.
At the close of the session the chair moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded, members voiced their assent, and the meeting was adjourned.
Why it matters: Routine minutes approval confirms the official record of prior board business and allows the board to proceed with its current agenda. No substantive policy votes occurred during the April meeting; staff briefings and public comment were the principal items on the agenda.
Ending: The board will reconvene next month in Boston, according to the chair’s remarks.
