Randolph County commissioners approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Randolph County, Randolph County Cooperative Extension and the Beekeepers Association of Randolph County to place demonstration beehives at the county’s new agricultural center.
County extension staff described the site and purpose: demonstration hives will support public classes on beginner beekeeping, pollinator awareness programs, youth outreach and related community-education initiatives. Extension staff and the county attorney described terms in the MOU, including that beekeepers will retain harvested honey and that the county reserved no claim to hive products.
