Greenbelt staff announces reorganization; Alvin Taylor introduced as new rural south GAB representative

At the start of the meeting Greenbelt staff announced a reorganization creating a new department — Housing Development and Land Management — that includes the Greenbelt program. Eric said he is now director of the new department and that Chris Debut (as introduced) was promoted to deputy director for Greenbelt and will increasingly lead Greenbelt meetings.
The board also heard a brief introduction from newly appointed GAB rural south representative Alvin Taylor, who identified himself as a long-time resident and a retired executive formerly with a Department of Natural Resources. "One of my passions ... was preserving, conserving, and taking every opportunity to obtain and protect those those precious pieces of South Carolina," Taylor said.
No formal action was required for the administrative update; the announcements were informational.
