Parker council appoints Heather Crosby to PROS commission, names Matthew Lunn chair

The Parker Town Council on April 7 approved Resolution 25-014 to appoint Heather Crosby as a regular member of the Parker Parks, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Commission and to designate Matthew Lunn as the commission chair.

Council members said the appointment responds to a resignation by Heather Bennett, who had been serving as chair through December 2025, and follows interviews by council members and staff. Council and staff described Crosby as an active parks user and community volunteer with firsthand knowledge of local trails and recreation programs.

Megan (staff) told the council that Crosby was recommended after interviews conducted by Councilmembers Barrington and Franzen and staff members Brenda Mooney and Mary Colton. Crosby spoke briefly at the dais, saying she has been a Parker resident for almost 15 years, uses the town’s trails and programs regularly and looks forward to contributing to parks and open-space projects.

Council members thanked volunteers and parks staff, noted Crosby’s local knowledge and expressed support for continuity in commission leadership with Lunn as chair. No public comment was offered on the appointment during the meeting.

The motion to approve Resolution 25-014 was made by Councilmember Barrington, seconded by Councilmember Franzen, and the council voted unanimously to approve the resolution. The council did not discuss amendments to the resolution during the meeting.

The appointment fills the remainder of the outgoing member’s term through December 2025 and places Crosby on the commission to participate in park and open-space planning and advisory work going forward.
