Committee approves narrow language change to permit hauling of farm equipment

State Representative Steve Hollowell, District 37, presented Senate Bill 496 and said the measure changes a single word in existing law: replacing "dealer" with "hauler" so that an outside hauler may obtain the required permit to transport farm equipment. "Sometimes they hire another person to haul their equipment," Hollowell said. "This just lets the hauler get the permit and still the dealer. The dealer can also be the hauler but he can also hire an outside hauler to haul his equipment also. That's all it does."
