What the innovation renewals mean District presenter Doctor James Duffy described the Colorado Innovation Schools Act (2008) as the statutory basis that allows schools to apply for innovation status and receive waivers from specified district and state policies to pursue alternative staffing, curriculum and budgeting approaches. The administration recommended both schools’ plans for another three-year cycle based on presentations and a prior study-session review.
