On April 8, 2025 the Haralson County Planning Board recommended that the Board of Commissioners approve rezoning 3.66 acres on Elm Street (Map 302, Parcel 136) from AR‑1 to AR‑2 to permit subdivision into smaller residential lots.
Chelsea, Development Services planner, told the board the parcel is nonconforming under AR‑1 and that AR‑2 is consistent with other parcels across Elm Street. Applicant Warren Kennedy said he recently bought the property and intends to subdivide it into roughly 1‑acre tracts for family members who want to live nearby. No public opposition was recorded. The board approved the recommendation on a voice vote and will forward the matter to the Board of Commissioners in May for final approval.
