The Newberg School District 29J board unanimously approved the consent agenda at its April 8 meeting. The consent agenda included routine business and several donations to district programs and school activities.
Donations listed in the meeting packet included: $500 from the Kiwanis Club to Joanne Austin Elementary Garden Club; $3,139 to Edwards Volunteer Organization for gym climbing setup equipment; $2,000 from Newberg Charitable Organization to the Newberg High School Orchestra; $1,000 from Todd Lovell to Newberg High School track and field for javelins; $2,500 from Wallen Construction to the Newberg High School trap team; and additional small gifts noted in the packet.
A board member moved approval of the consent agenda; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
The board did not debate the donations in depth during the meeting; the acceptance of donations was bundled with standard consent items and recorded as approved.
