Massachusetts Senate extends citation to Zim and CEO Eli Glickman for Boston port partnership

The Massachusetts Senate extended a citation honoring Zim and its chief executive, Eli Glickman, for the company’s partnership with the Massachusetts Port Authority and for bringing new container service to Boston, the chamber said during a session.
The citation recognizes Zim’s “innovative shipping, data-driven strategies, and tailored solutions” and notes the company’s partnership with Massport, the presiding officer said. The citation was to be signed by the president of the Senate and attested by the clerk.
Senator Barry Feingold joined the presiding officer in recognizing “great partners” from Zim and from Massport. The remarks named Rich Davey, chief executive of the Massachusetts Port Authority, and port director Gleeson for their work with the line.
Eli Glickman, identified in the chamber as CEO of Zim, thanked the Senate and said the company made a “huge investment” to open service in Boston after meetings several years ago and through the COVID period. Glickman said Zim runs weekly vessel calls to Boston and is “looking forward to expand our businesses.”
Glickman also voiced concern about new tariffs, saying, “Today, we are highly concerned with the new tariff made by the decision of Trump administration … It’s high concern not just of The US, but the world at all.”
The citation and the Senate’s congratulations are ceremonial recognition; the record on the floor does not show a roll-call vote for the citation, and the clerk was directed to transmit a copy of the signed citation.
