County staff give updates on Crenshaw roundabout, storm drainage and Reed Center paving

County public-works staff told the Williamson County board the roundabout project at Crenshaw is scheduled to begin construction as early as May 1, with some pre-closure work planned before the contractor conducts full closures. Staff said they met with utilities and intend to coordinate pre-closure and outages so the utility work is either already completed or has a plan in place before major closures.
“We're hoping to get started May 1. We're wanting to wait for school to be out, so for pre closures,” a public-works representative said at the meeting. Staff said the contractor will do pre-closure work to limit disruption and that the county hopes the project will be fully open when planned, weather permitting.
Board members and staff also discussed storm-related drainage issues. Staff reported that stormwater on the south side of town is receding quickly and forecast levels downstream should fall below flood stage by next Tuesday, and that crews are working on culverts and adjacent roads where the closure will be in place.
Separately, staff confirmed an upcoming paving/blacktop job at the Reed Center and said they have been able to accomplish some local paving work before the storm. Staff recommended taking advantage of a planned closure to complete culvert and approach work in the area of the roundabout.
No formal vote was required for these operational updates; staff were instructed to continue coordination with utilities and contractors and to notify the board if schedule changes occur.
