The court voted to adopt resolutions honoring District Clerk Norma Favela Barcelo’s 40 years of county service; to recognize April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month and as Autism Acceptance Month; to declare April 7 as Joshua Marmolejo Day in honor of the Clint High School educator and Milken Award recipient; and to proclaim April as Second Chance Month and April as Child Abuse Prevention Month, among others. The court also recognized local LULAC councils and approved a proclamation for a pediatric oncology community event called the Hope Egg Hunt.
