Summary
The board approved a pass-through agreement and an authorizing resolution for Adams County Council on Aging to receive and administer state funds and reaffirmed an annual county support request of $42,000 for local transportation services; commissioners authorized the contract and asked for documentation to be filed.
Adams County commissioners approved a pass-through agreement and an authorizing resolution that will allow the Adams County Council on Aging to receive state-provided transportation funds and continue to operate local transit services.
Michelle, director of the Council on Aging, asked the board to approve the county acting as pass-through for state funds and to authorize an annual county contribution of $42,000 to support local service. Michelle said the county’s ceded allocation and the county’s regular contribution are important to the agency’s ability to match state and federal funds; she requested the same $42,000 contribution as the prior year.
Commissioners moved to accept the pass-through agreement and then separately approved the authorizing resolution, recorded as Resolution 2025-1. Both motions carried. Commissioners also authorized the Council on Aging to implement the 53-11 program (referred to in the meeting as “53 11”), and Michelle confirmed the agency will continue to coordinate related match and program reporting.
Commissioners said they support the partnership arrangement and asked Michelle to coordinate with the auditor and county staff on how the funds will appear in the budget and on next steps for documentation.
