The Marshall City Council affirmed several appointments to city boards and commissions following a special session of interviews held earlier.
Mayor Melissa recommended appointments based on the evening’s special session interviews: Lee Sorum to a vacant term on the Airport Commission (term to expire May 31, 2027); Josh Scholten and Ryan Anthony to the Community Services Advisory Board (terms expiring Feb. 28, 2026 and Feb. 28, 2028, respectively); and Jenna Riley to the Public Housing Commission (term to expire May 31, 2027).
Council member C moved to affirm the airport and community services appointments; Council member Amanda seconded and the council approved the motion. The council then considered the public housing commission appointment; Council member John moved to affirm Jenna Riley to the Public Housing Commission, seconded by Amanda. That motion passed and the clerk recorded one abstention on the public housing vote.
The appointments will fill vacancies on the Airport Commission, the Community Services Advisory Board and the Public Housing Commission and their start and end dates were read aloud by staff as part of the motion.
