Kirksville council approves store sign variance, accepts street, awards supply contracts and equipment lease; one variancemoved to April 21

The Kirksville City Council approved a series of land-use variances, accepted a completed subdivision street into the city’s fixed assets, authorized purchases of rock and sand products, and approved a two-month lease for an asphalt milling machine at its April meeting. One variance for a business’ parking-surface requirement was postponed to the council’s April 21 meeting for further consideration.

The most immediate actions involved two variances for commercial properties. The council approved, on first and second reading, Ordinance No. 2025-12, granting a signage variance for Casey’s at 503 South Franklin Street; the planning and zoning commission recommended the variance on March 12, 2025.
