City says employee handbook and harassment policy are being updated; solicitor review pending

Mayor McAdams told the committee that the employee handbook (except for a social-media policy) dates to roughly 20 years ago and that many policies need refreshing to reflect changes in law, technology and workplace practice. He said Director Morse has been working on multiple policies, and that the harassment policy is currently with the city solicitor for final review. "I would say by the time the finance committee meets next, it's with the city solicitor for a final review right now," Mayor McAdams said.
Committee members welcomed the update and suggested widening the review to include other HR policies. No formal action was taken; members agreed to keep the item on the committee calendar and to receive the solicitor-reviewed version at a future meeting.
