Member Kelly apologized for miscommunication around a recently debated resolution and said she ultimately voted against the measure while expressing support for its intent. "I would wanted to publicly apologize to board member in terms of, there was a lot of miscommunication and, and there were some things that, that I felt bad about concerning her resolution. My final vote was was against the resolution, but I do believe that, the intent of the resolution is important and something that we need to look at," Kelly said.
Member Booth described showing emotion while reading a letter and apologized for that, saying, "sometimes I wear my heart on my sleeve. And I've recognized that for about 74 years. And I apologize for the emotions that were in the middle of reading a simple letter." Booth also thanked staff and Superintendent Dixon: "I'm also very grateful for our staff and superintendent Dixon. We don't have very many more chances to say thank you, but you're awesome and we're grateful for the privilege of, backing you up and working with you."
Member Lear thanked the chair for the updates on the superintendent search and asked for continued, transparent notices when the committee meets and basic applicant information.
The meeting ended on a motion to adjourn moved by Member Carey and seconded by Member Rod. The chair called for the verbal vote; "Aye" was recorded and no opposition was transcribed. The motion to adjourn carried.
