The Nantucket Airport Commission approved the leases, contracts and agreements listed on Exhibit 1, and later took a separate roll call to approve a nonexclusive ramp license for Gull Air (a Part 135 operator).
Manager Smith told the commission the airport received a one‑year plus two one‑year renewal option nonsignatory agreement from American Airlines and a signatory agreement from Cape Air with similar terms including freight service. Manager Smith also reported receipt of an agreement from Tri State Charter LLC for Part 135 service to West Palm Beach, and said Unifi Aviation will provide ground handling services for United and Delta and will begin serving JetBlue this year, leaving a single ground handler for the airport.
Manager Smith said Textron Aviation submitted a claim for a luggage cart incident; the airport is proceeding with a $25,000 deductible and staff concluded the claim will not materially affect insurance premiums next year. Manager Smith also sought the commission’s approval of a uniqueness determination to acquire 16 Kittiwake Lane (the purchase appears in a separate agenda item).
The motion to approve the Exhibit 1 package was moved and seconded and passed with recorded ayes. Later in the meeting, after a brief delay while a commissioner connected remotely, commissioners moved and seconded approval of the Gull Air ramp license; the roll call recorded ayes and the vice chair also voted aye.
Manager Smith noted compliance questions related to Chapter 30B and that one pending item (a Gull Air item earlier in the packet) would be held until enough members were present to vote.
