District staff told the Camden County Board of Education that bid openings for the new high school project are complete and that the district’s construction manager is reviewing bids to produce a preliminary Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). The district said Heartland (construction manager) had received bids for all major trades and is verifying that bids align with the project scope before starting value-engineering work.
The board also heard a brief facilities update: a bathroom trailer installed at the softball field passed final inspection and was available for district events. Staff encouraged community members to use the facility.
No formal actions were taken on the construction procurements at the meeting; staff said the GMP and subsequent value-engineering steps will follow bid review and alignment.
Board members asked no substantive follow-up questions during the update, and staff described the timeline as unchanged pending completion of the bid review.
The construction update came from district operations staff who summarized next steps toward producing a preliminary GMP and beginning value-engineering if necessary.
