SUMNER, Wash. — The Sumner City Council on April 7 approved changes to the city code that raise delegated contract approval limits and expand notice requirements for some right-of-way work, adopted a 19-item consent agenda and excused an absent council member.
The contract amendment, ordinance No. 29-23, updates Sumner Municipal Code chapter 2.112 to bring the city into alignment with state law on public-works contracting, increase contract approval limits and clarify which positions may sign contracts on the city’s behalf, City Administrator Jason Wilson said. “The proposed amendments bring our municipal code in alignment with state law regarding public works contracting,” Wilson said.
