Charleston County Council on April 8, 2025, approved a range of routine and project items during its regular meeting. The following is a concise list of actions recorded on the meeting record.
- Minutes of March 25, 2025: Approved by voice vote. - Recognitions: Consolidated Emergency Communication Center accreditation and proclamation recognizing April 2025 as Public Safety Telecommunicator Week: adopted by council. - Consent agenda (items 4a–4f including Hollings Road drainage improvement and utility relocation): adopted by voice vote. - US 17/Main Road project (Item 5A): Approved by voice vote. - Procurement amendment (Item 5C): Committee recommended and council adopted a policy directing staff to post all contracts on the county website in an easily found location and to notify council via the administrator's report when a council-authorized contract has been negotiated and entered into. - Animal-services contract direction (Item 5D): Council directed the administrator to execute contracts as discussed and to return any amendments or terminations to council (see separate article). - Republic Services contract (Item 5E): Approved on staff recommendation. - County-attorney contract (Item 5F): Council authorized the chairman and Ms. Ham to execute the contract discussed in executive session; recorded nays by Mr. Sass and Councilmember Kabrowski (see separate article). - Amendment and other project approvals (Item 5G and others): Adopted by voice votes as recorded in the meeting.
