City Administrator Kevin Walsh noted the city’s past practice and said a state statute provides that when a four-member council results in a 2-2 tie on an appointment, the mayor makes the appointment. The council’s appointment avoided that scenario in this case.
Mayor Fraiche said he would place Hagerty on the Public Safety Commission; the mayor named existing members Mike Kramer and Chief Danberg as part of that commission roster. Hagerty took his seat immediately following the oath.
