The Belleville City Council approved two contracts tied to street improvements: a $95,000 contract with Oates Associates for construction inspection of the West Washington Street improvements (funded from TIF 3) and a $15,453.96 contract with Lochmiller Group for additional design review and environmental review related to downtown resurfacing (paid from ARPA funds).
Alderperson Randall presented the motions on behalf of the Streets and Grades committee. The motions were seconded and carried on a roll-call vote.
Finance and funding sources were stated during the committee report: Randall noted the Oates Associates payment will come from TIF 3. The Lochmiller Group work was described as additional reviews and design time to cover cultural-resources and historic-preservation items that were not included in the original scope.
Council approved both motions by roll call; the clerk recorded the vote as aye for the members present. The contracts will move forward to procurement and project oversight by public-works staff and the planning department.
