Planning board concludes revocation-modification hearing for Vendome nightclub after no new violations

The Miami Beach Planning Board voted April 8 to conclude the revocation-modification proceeding regarding the Vendome nightclub at 743 Washington Avenue after staff and the operator reported no new code violations since an October incident.
Attorney Mickey Marrero, representing the operator, told the board "There have been no new violations. A lot of scrutiny on this place as you guys know. There's been squeaky clean. Nothing, not one violation. No complaints." Marrero also noted that a May 2024 queuing violation had already been adjudicated by the special magistrate and that no appeals were pending.
Staff said the revocation-modification hearing had been scheduled to track compliance following prior incidents and that recommended action was to close the matter given the lack of new citations. A planning board member asked whether there was any outstanding enforcement or anticipated complaints; staff confirmed no open violations and said the revocation-modification process would restart if new violations occur.
A motion to conclude the revocation-modification hearing was made and seconded; the board voted to close the case. Staff noted that if future violations are issued, the process to re-start the revocation-modification hearing would be undertaken.
