Committee members and several councilors said they had been briefed on recent changes to the cleanup approach, including a proposed absorptive reactive zone on Tozier Road, and urged residents to attend the meeting. Councilor Bowen told colleagues the committee should reserve judgment until after the public meeting and then determine whether the council should file a written comment during the public comment period that follows.
The committee confirmed the public meeting will be on April 16 at Beverly Middle School; doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7 p.m. Councilors said they expect community members, especially neighbors of Tozier Road, to review the presentations and submit comments through the formal comment period. Councilor Feldman said the project has seen steady progress for months but that recent changes require heightened attention.
The committee agreed to reconvene after the April 16 meeting to draft any council letter or formal comment, possibly using contributions from councilors who attend the meeting.
