Votes at a glance: Klamath Falls council approves consent agenda, liquor-license recommendation and ordinance amendment

At its April 7 meeting, the Klamath Falls City Council approved a series of routine and legislative items.

Consent agenda: The council approved the consent agenda by motion and second. Items included a biannual budget analysis report for 2023–2025, authorization to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Klamath Housing Authority regarding a sewer lift station for the Mountain View townhomes and the Everfree Homes project, authorization to purchase property at Fliesch and Shacker Street (Lots 1 and 2) in an amount not to exceed $5,500, and authorization of a construction services contract with Great American Contracting LLC for the 2025 spring crack-seal project in an amount not to exceed $185,000 plus a contingency allowance of $46,250.

Liquor license recommendation: Staff member Joe Wall presented a business-license application for a tasting room at 404 Main Street. He described the proposed use as a "small wine bar" offering limited on- and off-premises beer and wine sales. Staff said neighbor and police notice produced no concerns for this limited, not-late-night operation and recommended the council make a positive recommendation to the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC). A council member moved to recommend allowance of limited on- and off-premises alcohol sales to the OLCC for the tasting room; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.

Ordinance: The council conducted a second and final reading and adopted an ordinance amending city code section 5.285. The ordinance passed on recorded roll-call votes with all members voting yes as read into the record.

All motions reported in the meeting were moved, seconded and approved; no opposed votes were recorded during the session.
