Mount Lebanon SD proposes 4% increase to facility and lease fees; extended day leases submitted for board approval

At its April 7 discussion meeting, the Mount Lebanon School District presented proposed 4% increases to multiple facility and lease fee schedules for 2025-26, and the administration recommended approval of lease agreements for Mount Lebanon Extended Day Program and the Mount Lebanon Aqua Club.
The administration recommended a 4% increase across Monday'through'Saturday facility rental fees, Sunday rental fees, stadium lease fees and general lease schedules for the 2025-26 school year. The board was also presented with a summer 2025 lease agreement for the Mount Lebanon Extended Day Program for use of Mount Lebanon High School spaces from June 16 to Aug. 1, 2025, at fees totaling $13,362.16; the administration said that represents a 4% increase over the 2024 summer lease. A separate school-year lease for the Extended Day Program covering all district elementary buildings and kindergarten care at designated schools was presented at $36,436.52, also a 4% increase.
Board members raised availability concerns for the kindergarten-care program that leases space from the district. One board member said demand "outstrips the availability of space in our buildings" and asked whether the district or the program would add rooms; district staff replied that the district is offering the space it has and decisions to add rooms are the program's choice. A presentation error on the lease narrative incorrectly listed Jefferson as a kindergarten site; the administration said the contract itself correctly reflected the kindergarten sites and that the narrative would be corrected.
The board also heard about a proposed stadium occupancy license fee schedule and a Mount Lebanon Aqua Club agreement for Sept. 1, 2025'Aug. 31, 2026, both showing the same 4% recommended increase. The administration said standard lease language typically requires outside groups to state in public materials that their programs are not sponsored by the district; staff said they would confirm that specific disclaimer language is included in agreements.
No final approvals were recorded at the April 7 discussion meeting; the administration recommended the agreements for formal consideration at an upcoming meeting.
