Council approves rezone for Godfrey property near Logan, up to five potential lots

The Cache County Council voted unanimously to approve ordinance 2025-11, rezoning roughly 10.5 acres at 1695 West 2200 South from Agricultural A-10 to Rural RU-2.
Angie Satterquist of the county’s Development Services staff explained the request would allow a maximum of five potential lots but cautioned that “any sensitive areas would come out of that, so it could be less.” She said the site sits about 400 feet west of the Logan city boundary and is inside the county’s urban expansion/annexation planning area, and that the Planning Commission recommended approval on March 6 by a 5–0 vote with one abstention.
Applicant Tanner Godfrey said his family currently farms the property and that sensitive lands — “about 3 acres” of pond and surrounding wetlands — limit developable area. Godfrey said he intends to build a single home and continue farming the approximately six acres they currently farm.
After the public hearing and applicant remarks the council voted to accept the county planning and zoning recommendation and approved the ordinance by unanimous voice vote.
