The Board of Public Works and Safety approved a contract with Zambelli Fireworks on April 7 for the city’s Independence Day display to be held Saturday, July 5 (with a rain date of July 6).
Senior center and events coordinator Brett Ricketts told the board the contract is the same company and a similar show at the same cost as the prior year. Ricketts said the cost of the show is $30,000 and that 50% is due as a deposit; he also reported that Arvin Sango has agreed to serve as title sponsor.
A motion to approve the contract was made and seconded; the board voted in favor with no opposition recorded.
Staff said the event footprint and safety plan are consistent with prior years and that they will continue standard precautions, including intersection marshals and an event-safety plan to reduce vehicle-runner conflicts.
