Councilmember Chris Chirac said the Easter egg hunt originally scheduled for the prior Saturday was postponed because of standing water and has been rescheduled for April 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the caveat that the organizer has no additional backup dates. Chirac thanked Local Waste Services for offering to drop off 15 household containers for the event; the vendor retrieved them after the cancellation and will provide them again at the rescheduled event.
Chief Brooks reported a positive meeting with a local foundation regarding donations to a police canine program and said the department has increased patrols in recent days. The council also noted Earth Day plans (April 22) and confirmed supplies such as gloves and bags would be posted on the city website.
No formal council action was recorded on these administrative items; they were reported for the record and to direct staff as needed.
