Fleet staff provided a NADA-style low, high and average estimate (approximately $1,500–$2,700) if the vehicle were sold on a public auction platform.
Commission action: Commissioner Grove moved and Commissioner Ledger seconded a motion to surplus and donate the vehicle to Watertown; the commission approved the donation by voice vote.
Details: The sheriff said the county has previously donated used vehicles to small departments and volunteer agencies, and staff will prepare the transfer paperwork. If the county had chosen auction, fleet staff estimated a modest return; the donation was presented as a community support gesture.
