Clay County joined a regional proclamation endorsing the Cass Clay Interagency Council on Homelessness and pledged to encourage coordinated regional efforts to prevent and end homelessness.
Rory (representing the Cass Clay Interagency Council on Homelessness) asked the board to join a joint proclamation that had already been adopted by Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, Dilworth and Horace and was being presented at a Friday event hosted at the United Way of Cass Clay. Rory described the council as an interjurisdictional forum led by the United Way and the FM Coalition to End Homelessness to align policy, data and services across the metro area.
A commissioner moved to adopt the proclamation on Clay County—ehalf and another commissioner seconded; the motion carried on a unanimous voice vote. Board members noted the short notice for the request and thanked Rory and other organizers for bringing the issue forward.
Ending: County participation in the proclamation signals Clay County—ndorsement of regional coordination; the board directed staff to provide any needed attendance information for the Friday event.
