Summary
The board approved a grant‑funded contract with Timmins Group for design/construction of the MayMac South wastewater pump station, authorized use of the City of Emporia’s rehab specialist for Washington Park CDBG reconstruction, and approved lease agreements for Southside Grama adult education and the Job Assistance Center.
Greensville County supervisors approved a contract with Timmins Group to provide engineering and construction services for the MayMac South wastewater pump station. Staff said the project is grant‑funded and requires no county match; design work will begin once the contract is executed.
The board also approved a memorandum of understanding with the City of Emporia to use the city’s rehab specialist for two substantial reconstructions under the Washington Park CDBG project. Staff said the CDBG funds for those reconstructions are already in the county budget and that the rehab specialist cost is included in those funds; a separate small rehab will be funded by the Southern Virginia Development Corporation.
Additionally, the board approved a lease agreement with the County School Board of Prince George to provide space for Southside Grama adult and continuing education and approved a lease with the Job Assistance Center, which helps run large county job fairs. The motions were made, seconded and approved by roll call.
