The board authorized a contract with Globe Construction Inc. (Addison, Ill.) for the 2025 sidewalk improvements project in an amount not to exceed $385,723. Public works staff told the Transportation and Road Improvement Committee that the work completes a two‑year cycle of sidewalk inspection and replacement; the low bid came in well under budget, staff said. The board approved the contract on a roll call with Trustee Mills, Trustee Noel, Trustee Palafis, Trustee Stanton, Trustee Arnett, Trustee Keneing and Mayor William D. McLeod recorded as “aye.”
The board also awarded the 2025 Street Revitalization Project (Contract No. 2) to A LAMP (ALAM) Concrete Contractors Inc. of Schaumburg, Ill., for an amount not to exceed $6,248,229. Village staff described the contract as covering rehabilitation of eight streets, more than 4,300 feet of water main replacement and substantial sanitary‑sewer and stormwater work. Funding for the contract will pull from multiple sources; staff said the project is slightly over budget on streets and water lines but under on storm and sanitary allocations and that any change orders would be brought back to the committee. The board approved the award on a roll call with unanimous ayes.
In land‑use business, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended and the board approved an ordinance granting a special use to Keisen Jujitsu Club for a martial‑arts studio/health club at 1762 W. Algonquin Road. The vote was unanimous by roll call.
The board confirmed an appointment to the Cultural Awareness Commission: Amelia (Mimi) Ferletta was appointed to a term expiring April 30, 2027; that motion carried on a unanimous roll call.
All measures were presented with staff reports in committee beforehand and carried on roll calls at the full board meeting. Minutes and contract documents will be available from the village clerk once finalized.
