Finance committee approves a bundle of contracts and public-health agreements; audit software, utilities and lead investigations among items signed

- Ordinance 293-2025 (Procurements for high-voltage pipe-type cable system): The Committee authorized requirement contracts to repair, replace and maintain oil-filled high-voltage pipe-type cable system components for Cleveland Public Power. Staff said the system is specialized, oil-filled and underground, with few vendors able to perform the work; the two-year authorization includes a budget placeholder of $1 million.

- Ordinance 294-2025 (Roofing maintenance and repair contracts): The Committee authorized requirement contracts for labor and materials to maintain, test, evaluate, repair or replace roofs and appurtenances across the Department of Public Utilities for two years, with options to renew.

- Resolution 431-2025: The Committee approved a resolution recognizing 2025 as Reentry Awareness Month.

- Ordinance 435-2025: The Committee amended codified ordinances to allow the Cleveland Commission on Black Women and Girls to pay for childcare at events and to hire or contract for an intern from a local university to support the commissions work.
