Douglas County Board approves January 2025 financial report, moves to executive session

The Douglas County Board of Education approved the district's January 2025 financial report and the consent agenda, and then recessed into an executive session to discuss land, legal and personnel matters as listed on the meeting affidavit.

Holly Timbs, chief financial officer for Douglas County School System, presented the January financial report. "Local revenues have been collected at a rate of 86.55%," Timbs said, and she reported that expenditures were "slightly below budget at 58.3%." Timbs also reported that January revenues totaled $6,163,868.88, an increase of $2,554,403.22 compared with December.

Board members moved and seconded approval of the financial report and consent agenda, and the chair opened electronic voting. The board recorded the motions as favorable and the items were approved. During the vote on the January report, board members confirmed their affirmative votes on the record.

The board announced its next BOE work session will be April 19 at 8 a.m.; the date for the next regular board meeting was listed as April but not specified further. After board member comments, the board voted to recess into executive session "to discuss land, legal, and personnel as identified on the affidavit." A motion to adjourn to executive session was moved, seconded and recorded as favorable.
