The board voted to approve a Frank Lloyd Wright Intermediate School field trip to Philadelphia scheduled for Oct. 8–10, 2025, staff said.
Teachers from Frank Lloyd Wright presented logistics and finances for the trip. The cost per student including full‑refund insurance was presented at $1,934; parents can pay in full or use a payment plan. WorldStrides — the tour vendor used — offers financial aid applications for families with household income under $80,000 and scholarships up to $1,000, presenters said.
Trip highlights listed in the presentation include Independence National Historical Park, the Liberty Bell, Valley Forge National Historical Park, the U.S. Mint, and other historical sites; two nights of hotel accommodations, ground transportation and all entrance fees and most meals are included in the cost.
Staff said all current seventh-grade Frank Lloyd Wright students would be eligible (the trip is planned for their eighth-grade year) and that parents who sign up within 48 hours of the parent meeting may receive a $100 discount through the vendor. The board moved and approved the travel authorization by voice vote.
Ending: Teachers said they will schedule a parent meeting after board approval so families can sign up; staff and presenters asked parents to consider the vendor’s insurance and financial-aid options when registering.
