The council on April 8 considered two Renew Monona owner-loan requests. The request for 5516 Pheasant Hill Road (Margaret and Veronica Wilsey) was pulled from the agenda after the applicants notified staff they were switching contractors and could not yet confirm costs; no action was taken on that item.
The council approved a Renew Monona major home-rehab loan for 4606 Midmore Road, applicants Alexander Gano and Ashley Bergeron. Staff said the total work cost for the kitchen remodel is just under $78,000 and that the Renew Monona program’s maximum loan amount is 50% of total eligible project cost. Staff corrected a typo in the application: the loan amount should be $38,912.10 rather than $39,000. Staff reported the applicants will use personal savings for their share and that work is scheduled to begin in June, all being well.
The motion to approve the loan passed on a recorded voice vote.
