Kirby, a district staff presenter on construction, said crews erected most wall panels in about seven days (spread over two weeks because of rain), and steel beams are arriving for roof work. He said the gym’s storm shelter—a concrete enclosure required by the state—was being completed. "The full walls of the building are up," Kirby said, and crews were starting interior work and roof sealing.
The district showed a time-lapse video of the recent work and noted that the site route for trucks avoids driving through neighborhoods. Board members asked about tariff impacts on the project. Staff said 80% of the steel budget has been ordered or contracted, reducing exposure to new tariff-driven price increases. Staff said furniture remains a potential area of inflation risk; vendors have warned of price increases, but furniture is a small portion of the total project budget.
On schedule and budget: staff said no surprises were planned at this point and that Foster remains on track for the milestones previously described.
