The Contoocook Valley School Board elected Mike Hoyt chair and Curtis Hamilton vice chair during its meeting. Board members conducted both elections by roll-call vote after new members introduced themselves at the start of the session.
Board leadership positions were decided by individual roll-call votes in accordance with board policy requiring roll-call when a member participates remotely. A board member moved to nominate Mike Hoyt as chair; another member seconded the motion and the board voted by roll call to elect him. The later vote for vice chair nominated Curtis Hamilton and was also approved by roll call.
The roll-call tallies recorded in the meeting transcript show unanimous support in favor of both nominations among members present or voting remotely, with one recorded abstention during the manifest vote later in the meeting (see finance article for that vote). After the chair election, Hoyt assumed leadership of the meeting and called for the nomination of the vice chair.
The newly seated board had several introductions at the meeting opening. Members identified themselves and the towns they represent before the elections proceeded.
The board did not take other formal action on leadership beyond the two elections; Hoyt then proceeded to the remainder of the posted agenda.
